Originally from Chicago, Rabbi David Ebstein received his BA from Washington University in 1979 and was ordained as a rabbi from the Jewish Theological Seminary in 1988. He immediately began serving as the first full-time rabbi for Congregation Beth Emeth in Herndon, VA, a suburb of Washington, DC. In 1995, after seven rewarding years in the pulpit, David and his family fulfilled a lifelong dream of making aliyah. In addition to working at Yad Vashem in the International School for Holocaust Studies, Rabbi Ebstein helps families who are preparing to celebrate Bar/BatMitzvahs in Israel.

David lives in Jerusalem with his wife, Rena Magun, and their 4 children, Maytal (18), Eran (15), Noa (12) and Matan (9).
